If I remember correctly, in 2018 when I bought mine, there were only 4 engines out there, 730d, 740d, 740e (in G11/G12) and 760 (G12 only) so just as the US dont get 730d/740d, we couldnt get 740i/750i, and if you do heaps of miles 760 isnt definitely a practical option supplied the significant value of fuel in this article. It is now > $10.50 a gallon for petrol and > $11 for diesel.

LCI reintroduced 740i, 750i and 740e was changed with 745e in the Uk current market.

The 740d engine is just excellent in my feeling (I have had other VW team 3. diesels and 4. and 4.2 V8 Jaguar Petrol, and it trumps the lot). It is powerful, and regularly will get around 850 miles in between fills, and when street problems drive it (typical speed cameras etcetera) I get even a lot more. In activity mode on region roads, the acceleration is blistering, and helps make passing website traffic seriously quick. The onboard journey computer MPG is about 3 MPG way too generous. My normal since new is virtually 45 MPG, and on a tank made up of 4 x 100 mile excursions, the bulk trapped at 50-60 MPH, that tank was 49.8 MPG (onboard trip reported 53.2 MPH). When I experienced the V8 petrols , I felt as however 50 percent my existence was put in in gas stations.
