TPSO seeks suspects in carjacking and attempted carjacking of Rideshare/Delivery Drivers

Chief Jimmy Travis reviews two separate incidents in the space of Wardline Highway in Hammond, the place a person subject matter was carjacked and an additional tried carjacking took position within a make any difference of times.

On June 14, 2022 just right before 10:30 AM, an Uber driver touring by way of Joe’s Mobile Home Park off Milton Highway was approached by a young black male who asked for a trip. When the Uber driver refused the provider, the male suspect brandished a handgun and forced the driver to exit his black Toyota Sienna, leaving his mobile product inside of. The male suspect drove to the exit in which another youthful black male entered the van, at which time they left the trailer park.

On June 20, 2022 about 4:30 PM, a feminine shipping and delivery driver was flagged down on Wardline Highway near Log Cabin Lane by a youthful black male who asked to use her cellphone. When the woman reported she did not have a single, the male suspect hit on her window with a handgun. The female was in a position to drive absent immediately, and was unharmed. The suspect with the handgun is explained as “short and small” in stature, and was accompanied by a different youthful black male.

Citizens are urged to use warning when touring down Wardline Street and bordering spots, and to not stop for any person if flagged down.
